How To Fix Cydia Crash After iPhone Jailbreak

From time to time, I received emails about cydia launch issue after iPhone jailbreak. Some users mentioned every time they launch Cydia and it crashes immediately. One obvious solution is to go through the whole jailbreak process again and re-install Cydia.

It’s time-consuming, however.

Apparently, as revealed by iPhoneDownloadBlog, the crash issue is due to some corrupted repositories. So, there is a quick and dirty fix for the issue.

Here are the procedures:

1. Launch iPhone Explorer or Use SSH (e.g. Cyberduck for Mac or WinSCP for Windows) to access the file system of your jailbroken iPhone

2. Navigate to /var/lib/apt/lists and delete all files under this folder except the “partial” folder

3. Navigate to /var/lib/dpkg/updates. If there is any files inside, please also remove them.

4. Reboot your iPhone

Once boot up, you should be able to launch Cydia properly. Let me know if the fix works for you.
