One Million iPads Sold in 28 Days
Apple has just announced that it sold the one millionth iPad on Friday, just 28 days after the launch of iPad. As mentioned in the press release, it took even less time for iPad to achieve the same milestone as that of iPhone:
“One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”
In less than a month, iPad users have already downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store and over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore. As revealed by Apple, there are already over 5,000 apps specially designed for iPad in the App Store.
On Friday, the company began to sell the 3G version of iPad in U.S. It’s definitely another big hit for Apple. Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray & Co., estimated that Apple sold 300,000 iPad 3Gs over the weekend.
Probably, Apple will sell another million of iPad in less than two weeks.
